Mrs.Tabassum Rana has over 34 years of extensive experience working with State Bank of Pakistan.She did her Masters in economics from Karachi University and MS in Economic Policy and Planing from Northestern University, Massachusetts USA. In her career as Central Banker she has worked with core policy Departments such as Monetary policy , Engineering ,Business Support and Facilitation , Development Finace and External Relations Departments. She started her career as Research Analyst and rose to leadership position of Joint Director. Presently, She is serving as an Independent Director of BCL since 2020.

Mr. Javed Ashraf
Independent Director
Mr. Syed Javed Ashraf graduated as a Metallurgical Engineer from Dawood College of Engineering & Technology, University of Karachi, in 1969. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Science with majors in Physics and Chemistry. In addition, he acquired Post-Graduate Foundry Practices training from Sandwell College of Engineering and Technology, Birmingham, UK. He is a member of the Institute of Cast Metal Engineers (ICME), UK; the Pakistan Engineering Council; and the Pakistan Institute of Metallurgical Engineers.
Mr. Ashraf has diversified professional experience spanning nearly 55 years. He began his career at Ismail Jee Steel Mills, Islamabad, in 1971 and subsequently joined Ittefaq Foundries Limited in 1973. In 1976, he joined Pakistan Engineering Company Limited, where he served for seven years. In 1983, he joined Bolan Castings Limited (BCL) as a Senior Manager and subsequently progressed to the position of Chief Executive, a role he held until his superannuation in 2006. During the periods from 1993 to 2006 and from 2014 to 2020, he also served as an Independent Director of BCL.
He has also worked as a Senior Consultant with PIDC and SEC for a period of two years.
Mr. Ashraf served as a Director of Karachi Tools, Dies & Moulds Centre (KTDMC) from July 2006 to March 2025, including as Chief Executive Officer from 2010 to 2015.
In addition, he has served as a Member of the Senate / Academic Council of NED University of Engineering & Technology, Karachi; Member of the Board of Studies, University of Gujrat; and Member of the Board of Faculty, Suffa University of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Karachi. Presently, He is serving as an Independent Director of BCL since January 2026.

Mr. Muhammad Salman Husain Chawala
Independent Director
Salman has over 20 years of experience in various sectors which includes Pharmaceutical, Agriculture, Chemicals, Engineering and Financial Sectors. He has played key role in Business Development, Corporate Governance, Corporate Affairs, Risk Management and General Management. He is currently associated with National Investment Trust (NIT) as Head of Corporate Governance. He is also representing the organization on a number of Boards. Salman holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from IBA – Karachi and is also Member of Institute of Corporate Secretaries of Pakistan. He is also a Certified Director from Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance (PICG).
